Checks and Balances

Finding sleep in the storm.

Too often I find myself taking the tranquilities found along the trail in life for granted knowing intimately that storms loom on the horizon. Too often I focus more energy on what's going wrong when perhaps my focus should be drawn to what is truly going right. I must endeavour to meet the wrongs of today with equal measures of good and I must do this activity to maintain a harmonic balance in my walk. It isn't about being ignorant to my faults or flaws, it's not about suggesting that I've got it all together and it's most certainly not about self deprecating to a point that I lose hope. It's just the simple yet arduous task of acknowledging the dynamics of today...taking stock.

Pay attention to those slices of negative energy we all have imbued in the very fabrics of our being, hold them, own them, empower yourself by grasping their message and then beside them lay the slices of goodness we all have and empower yourself again. Seek to find balance, to reach harmony, and to recognize tranquility... and then you can find sleep in the storm.
