Real Men + The Mosaic of Masculinity
What does it mean to “be a man”? What does masculinity really look like? While the #MeToo movement pushed “toxic masculinity” into the spotlight. There’s more to it than simply challenging the way men view and treat women. We think it’s time to start a conversation upstream—challenging where we get our ideas of masculinity and manhood. Exploring what it looks like to be a “real man” outside of the stereotypical “man box”. As Mark Greene, Senior Editor The Good Men Project notes, “When we talk about the rules of being a real man, those rules aren’t just handed to us on a sheet of paper. They’re pounded into us daily.” But, “until we open up our definition of manhood much broader to include as many versions of manhood as there are men, men are going to continue to confront this question of ‘Am I man enough?’”
